Vitess is a database clustering system for horizontal scaling of MySQL. Prior to 23.0.5 and 24.0.2, twopczHandler in go/vt/vttablet/tabletserver/twopcz.go writes the Action and dtid form values from the vttablet and vtcombo /twopcz HTTP debug endpoint into a text/html response without HTML escaping. Under the default allow-all ACL policy, a remote unauthenticated attacker can send an operator a crafted request that executes script in the operator's browser after the request is opened. The script runs with the vttablet debug origin and can read same-origin diagnostic endpoints that expose query, transaction, environment, variable, or profiling data available in that deployment. This issue is fixed in versions 23.0.5 and 24.0.2.Show less

Prior to 0.21.8, the @backstage/plugin-kubernetes-backend package is affected by improper entity validation in deprecated kubernetes services endpoint. An authenticated user with Kubernetes read permissions could access Kubernetes workload data beyond their intended scope by supplying crafted entity data to the deprecated services endpoint. The exposure is limited to read-only access to Kubernetes object metadata across configured clusters. This issue is fixed in version 0.21.8.Show less

Prior to 0.21.9, the @backstage/plugin-kubernetes-backend package is affected by sensitive information disclosure in kubernetes resource queries. An authenticated user holding the standard Kubernetes resource read permission could retrieve sensitive values that the Kubernetes plugin is designed to mask, potentially exposing credentials and other confidential material held in the connected clusters. Exposure is limited to resources that the Backstage service account is permitted to read and that match the targeted catalog entity's namespace and label selector. Deployments whose cluster credentials do not grant read access to these resources are unaffected. This issue is fixed in version 0.21.9.Show less

An authenticated attacker who can register or influence an SCM-backed documentation source may bypass TechDocs sanitization and cause Python objects to be imported and instantiated in the generator runtime, leading to arbitrary code execution. Earlier fixes in versions 1.14.6 and 1.15.4 did not fully address the supported mapping representation of markdown_extensions. Impact is greatest when documentation generation runs with backend credentials, filesystem access, or internal network access. This issue is fixed in versions 1.14.8, 1.15.6, and 2.0.1.Show less

When using the local TechDocs publisher (techdocs.publisher.type: 'local'), it was possible for the documentation serving endpoint to follow filesystem references outside the intended documentation tree, potentially exposing host files to authenticated users. This is mitigated by the fact that exploration requires preconditions that do not arise through normal MkDocs operation. Cloud-based publishers (S3, GCS, Azure Blob Storage) are not affected.
