Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an LDAP Query ('LDAP Injection')

The product constructs all or part of an LDAP query using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended LDAP query when it is sent to a downstream component.

Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an LDAP Query ('LDAP Injection') vulnerability in Apache APISIX. A caller who holds valid credentials for one entry in the LDAP directory can authenticate through APISIX as a consumer mapped to a different entry, one the plugin's configured scope was meant to keep out of reach. This issue affects Apache APISIX: from 2.11.0 through 3.17.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.18.0, which fixes the issue.Show less

In versions below 2.3.8 of the AD LDAP app for Splunk SOAR, a user who holds a role with permission to run actions could inject crafted input into an Active Directory query to enumerate Active Directory objects, including accounts, groups, and organizational units, read sensitive attributes from arbitrary directory objects, and redirect account modification actions to unintended objects. For more information see Run an action in Splunk SOAR (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-soar/soar-on-premises/use-splunk-soar-on-premises/8.6.0/use-the-command-line-interface-to-perform-tasks-in-splunk-soar-on-premises/run-an-action-in-splunk-soar-on-premises).Show less

A security flaw has been discovered in Dolibarr up to 23.0.3. Affected is an unknown function of the file htdocs/user/card.php of the component User Cloning. The manipulation of the argument ID results in ldap injection. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The patch is identified as 798e65356ede03c2812ab1a728f23fae34de5592. It is advisable to implement a patch to correct this issue.Show less

A flaw was found in Red Hat Quay's external Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication handling. When an LDAP referral is returned during authentication, the system does not properly escape the username input. This allows an attacker to inject LDAP filter metacharacters, enabling user-existence oracle attacks at the referral Directory Name (DN). This could also potentially influence which DN is used for password binding in multi-domain Active Directory environments.Show less

A flaw was found in the LDAP storage provider of Keycloak, which is used to federate user identities from external directories. The issue occurs when a delegated administrator performs a search using a specific LDAP entry Distinguished Name (DN). Due to missing validation, the system allows lookups for users located outside the configured search boundary, leading to the disclosure of account information from unauthorized parts of the directory and unintended importing of those users into local storage.Show less

A flaw was found in 389 Directory Server. An unauthenticated remote attacker can inject LDAP search filters into the CleanAllRUV replication status-check extended operation. Because the handler performs the search against cn=config with elevated replication plugin privileges and returns a boolean match result, the attacker can extract sensitive server configuration metadata, including replication bind DNs and password storage scheme information.Show less

LDAP filter injection vulnerability in Apache Zeppelin. LdapRealm used RFC 4514 distinguished-name escaping when constructing LDAP search filters instead of RFC 4515 filter escaping, leaving special filter characters insufficiently escaped.                   This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2024-31867. This issue affects Apache Zeppelin versions 0.11.1, 0.11.2, and 0.12.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.12.1, which fixes this issue.Show less

LDAP injection vulnerability in Apache Zeppelin. ActiveDirectoryGroupRealm constructed LDAP search filters without escaping user-controlled input, allowing an authenticated attacker to inject LDAP filter syntax through the user-search endpoint                   and potentially expose directory information. The role-lookup path was also affected after successful LDAP authentication. This issue affects Apache Zeppelin versions 0.6.0 through 0.12.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.12.1, which                   fixes this issue.Show less

A vulnerability has been identified in centraldogma-server-auth-shiro versions prior to 0.84.0, where the SearchFirstActiveDirectoryRealm substitutes the login username into an LDAP search filter without neutralizing LDAP filter metacharacters, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate the filter to cause authentication confusion and enumerate the directory structure.Show less

A remote attacker can inject LDAP special characters into the Distinguished Name (DN) construction in DefaultLdapRealm class. User-supplied username input is directly concatenated into the LDAP DN template without any escaping of RFC 2253 special characters. This allows an attacker to manipulate the DN structure used for LDAP bind authentication, potentially bypassing authentication or impersonating other users. This issue affects all Apache Shiro versions through 2.2.0, and 3.0.0-alpha-1 when using DefaultLdapRealm Upgrade to Apache Shiro 2.2.1 or 3.0.0-alpha-2 or later, which fixes the issue.Show less

Roxy-WI is a web interface for managing Haproxy, Nginx, Apache and Keepalived servers. In versions 8.2.6.4 and prior, get_ldap_email (app/modules/roxywi/user.py:120-157) builds the LDAP search filter via f-string concatenation. The username URL path parameter is taken verbatim — no checkAjaxInput, no LDAP escape — and inserted, a username like *)(mail=*)(cn=* injects additional clauses, allowing the admin to enumerate or harvest attributes outside the intended record. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.Show less
