The SELFDN ACI bind-rule evaluator incorrectly matches an anonymous LDAP client's empty bind DN against an empty stored attribute value, allowing an unauthenticated client to satisfy access control checks intended to require a matching authenticated identity. This can allow an anonymous LDAP client to perform an operation, such as adding or modifying a directory entry, that a SELFDN-based ACI intended to restrict to a specific authenticated user.Show less |

An authenticated workload with access restricted by such a rule can submit a CompleteStateRequest or UpdateStateRequest with an empty field mask. The request may then be incorrectly authorized as matching the scoped rule, allowing the workload to read the complete cluster state or replace state outside its authorized subtree. This may result in unauthorized disclosure or modification of other workloads and cluster configuration. Only a rule consisting solely of * is intended to authorize an empty mask.
Mitigation: Until an update containing the fix is installed, avoid multi-segment Control Interface allow-rule filter masks that begin with a wildcard, such as *.workloads.some_workload. Replace them with explicit paths such as desiredState.workloads.some_workload, where applicable. A filter mask consisting solely of * has different, intentionally unrestricted semantics and should only be used when full-state access is intended.Show less |

From version 2.28.0 to before version 3.32.0, Avo's direct attachment upload endpoint lacks server-side upload authorization and bypasses the documented field-level upload policy methods such as upload_{FIELD_ID}?. An authenticated Avo user who can reach the Avo attachment upload endpoint can replace or add attachment content, including binary content, filename, and content-type metadata, on a resolved record even when both update? and upload_<field>? policies deny the operation. This primarily affects multi-role Avo Pro/Advanced-style deployments where non-administrator or restricted operator users can reach Avo and per-record or per-field operations are expected to be enforced by policies. This issue has been patched in version 3.32.0.Show less |

The affected attribute deletion paths relied on organization membership checks performed by MispAttribute::deleteAttribute() but did not consistently enforce MISP's event modification authorization rules. Consequently, a user belonging to the organization associated with an event could potentially delete individual attributes or perform bulk attribute deletion even when their assigned role was not authorized to modify the event.
This created an inconsistency between attribute editing and deletion: editing an attribute correctly used MISP's ACL::canModifyEvent() authorization logic, whereas the affected deletion operations could bypass these permission checks.
An authenticated attacker with access to an affected MISP instance and membership in the organization owning an event could exploit this flaw to remove attributes from that event, potentially causing unauthorized modification or loss of threat intelligence data.
The patch introduces a common authorization check for all affected deletion paths. Before deletion, MISP now resolves the associated events and verifies that the current user is authorized to modify each event using the same authorization mechanism used by normal event and attribute modification operations.Show less |
