In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nouveau/uvmm: fix addr/range calcs for remap operations dEQP-VK.sparse_resources.image_rebind.2d_array.r64i.128_128_8 was causing a remap operation like the below. op_remap: prev: 0000003fffed0000 00000000000f0000 00000000a5abd18a 0000000000000000 op_remap: next: op_remap: unmap: 0000003fffed0000 0000000000100000 0 op_map: map: 0000003ffffc0000 0000000000010000 000000005b1ba33c 00000000000e0000 This was resulting in an unmap operation from 0x3fffed0000+0xf0000, 0x100000 which was corrupting the pagetables and oopsing the kernel. Fixes the prev + unmap range calcs to use start/end and map back to addr/range.Show less

Aircompressor is a library with ports of the Snappy, LZO, LZ4, and Zstandard compression algorithms to Java. All decompressor implementations of Aircompressor (LZ4, LZO, Snappy, Zstandard) can crash the JVM for certain input, and in some cases also leak the content of other memory of the Java process (which could contain sensitive information). When decompressing certain data, the decompressors try to access memory outside the bounds of the given byte arrays or byte buffers. Because Aircompressor uses the JDK class `sun.misc.Unsafe` to speed up memory access, no additional bounds checks are performed and this has similar security consequences as out-of-bounds access in C or C++, namely it can lead to non-deterministic behavior or crash the JVM. Users should update to Aircompressor 0.27 or newer where these issues have been fixed. When decompressing data from untrusted users, this can be exploited for a denial-of-service attack by crashing the JVM, or to leak other sensitive information from the Java process. There are no known workarounds for this issue.Show less

We can see above that at [0] a stack-based buffer called `comment` is defined with an hardcoded size of `1000 bytes`. The call to `fscanf` at [1] is unsafe and if the first line of the header of the `.off` files is longer than 1000 bytes it will overflow the `header` buffer.Show less
