Mastodon is a self-hosted, federated microblogging platform. Starting in version 4.2.0 and prior to versions 4.2.16 and 4.3.4, the rate limits are missing on `/auth/setup`. Without those rate limits, an attacker can craft requests that will send an email to an arbitrary addresses. Versions 4.2.16 and 4.3.4 fix the issue.Show less

Go JOSE provides an implementation of the Javascript Object Signing and Encryption set of standards in Go, including support for JSON Web Encryption (JWE), JSON Web Signature (JWS), and JSON Web Token (JWT) standards. In versions on the 4.x branch prior to version 4.0.5, when parsing compact JWS or JWE input, Go JOSE could use excessive memory. The code used strings.Split(token, ".") to split JWT tokens, which is vulnerable to excessive memory consumption when processing maliciously crafted tokens with a large number of `.` characters. An attacker could exploit this by sending numerous malformed tokens, leading to memory exhaustion and a Denial of Service. Version 4.0.5 fixes this issue. As a workaround, applications could pre-validate that payloads passed to Go JOSE do not contain an excessive number of `.` characters.Show less

Net::IMAP implements Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) client functionality in Ruby. Starting in version 0.3.2 and prior to versions 0.3.8, 0.4.19, and 0.5.6, there is a possibility for denial of service by memory exhaustion in `net-imap`'s response parser. At any time while the client is connected, a malicious server can send can send highly compressed `uid-set` data which is automatically read by the client's receiver thread. The response parser uses `Range#to_a` to convert the `uid-set` data into arrays of integers, with no limitation on the expanded size of the ranges. Versions 0.3.8, 0.4.19, 0.5.6, and higher fix this issue. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: storvsc: Ratelimit warning logs to prevent VM denial of service If there's a persistent error in the hypervisor, the SCSI warning for failed I/O can flood the kernel log and max out CPU utilization, preventing troubleshooting from the VM side. Ratelimit the warning so it doesn't DoS the VM.Show less
