If entry is NULL and rc is set to -EMSGSIZE, the following code may cause null-pointer dereferences: struct vk_msg_blk tmp_msg = entry->to_h_msg[0]; set_msg_id(&tmp_msg, entry->usr_msg_id); tmp_msg.size = entry->to_h_blks - 1; To prevent these possible null-pointer dereferences, copy to_h_msg, usr_msg_id, and to_h_blks from iter into temporary variables, and return these temporary variables to the application instead of accessing them through a potentially NULL entry.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: qrtr: Drop the MHI auto_queue feature for IPCR DL channels MHI stack offers the 'auto_queue' feature, which allows the MHI stack to auto queue the buffers for the RX path (DL channel). Though this feature simplifies the client driver design, it introduces race between the client drivers and the MHI stack. For instance, with auto_queue, the 'dl_callback' for the DL channel may get called before the client driver is fully probed. This means, by the time the dl_callback gets called, the client driver's structures might not be initialized, leading to NULL ptr dereference. Currently, the drivers have to workaround this issue by initializing the internal structures before calling mhi_prepare_for_transfer_autoqueue(). But even so, there is a chance that the client driver's internal code path may call the MHI queue APIs before mhi_prepare_for_transfer_autoqueue() is called, leading to similar NULL ptr dereference. This issue has been reported on the Qcom X1E80100 CRD machines affecting boot. So to properly fix all these races, drop the MHI 'auto_queue' feature altogether and let the client driver (QRTR) manage the RX buffers manually. In the QRTR driver, queue the RX buffers based on the ring length during probe and recycle the buffers in 'dl_callback' once they are consumed. This also warrants removing the setting of 'auto_queue' flag from controller drivers. Currently, this 'auto_queue' feature is only enabled for IPCR DL channel. So only the QRTR client driver requires the modification.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: wl1251: validate packet IDs before indexing tx_frames wl1251_tx_packet_cb() uses the firmware completion ID directly to index the fixed 16-entry wl->tx_frames[] array. The ID is a raw u8 from the completion block, and the callback does not currently verify that it fits the array before dereferencing it. Reject completion IDs that fall outside wl->tx_frames[] and keep the existing NULL check in the same guard. This keeps the fix local to the trust boundary and avoids touching the rest of the completion flow.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: guard local VLAN-0 FDB helpers against NULL vlan group When CONFIG_BRIDGE_VLAN_FILTERING is not set, br_vlan_group() and nbp_vlan_group() return NULL (br_private.h stub definitions). The BR_BOOLOPT_FDB_LOCAL_VLAN_0 toggle code is compiled unconditionally and reaches br_fdb_delete_locals_per_vlan_port() and br_fdb_insert_locals_per_vlan_port(), where the NULL vlan group pointer is dereferenced via list_for_each_entry(v, &vg->vlan_list, vlist). The observed crash is in the delete path, triggered when creating a bridge with IFLA_BR_MULTI_BOOLOPT containing BR_BOOLOPT_FDB_LOCAL_VLAN_0 via RTM_NEWLINK. The insert helper has the same bug pattern. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: icmp: fix null-ptr-deref in icmp_build_probe() ipv6_stub->ipv6_dev_find() may return ERR_PTR(-EAFNOSUPPORT) when the IPv6 stack is not active (CONFIG_IPV6=m and not loaded), and passing this error pointer to dev_hold() will cause a kernel crash with null-ptr-deref. Instead, silently discard the request. RFC 8335 does not appear to define a specific response for the case where an IPv6 interface identifier is syntactically valid but the implementation cannot perform the lookup at runtime, and silently dropping the request may safer than misreporting "No Such Interface".Show less

If ip_vs_start_estimator() subsequently fails, the out_err cleanup calls ip_vs_unbind_scheduler(svc, sched) with sched == NULL. ip_vs_unbind_scheduler() passes the cur_sched NULL check (because svc->scheduler was set by the successful bind) but then dereferences the NULL sched parameter at sched->done_service, causing a kernel panic at offset 0x30 from NULL. This vulnerability affects the function RequestButton of the file Telegram/SourceFiles/boxes/url_auth_box.cpp of the component Bot API. The manipulation of the argument login_url leads to null pointer dereference. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. There is ongoing doubt regarding the real existence of this vulnerability. Upgrading to version 6.7.6 is able to resolve this issue. Upgrading the affected component is recommended. The vendor provides this rationale for the dispute: "[T]he described scenario does not lead to any security issue or vulnerability, and only causes a one-time crash. In the outlined scenario, the targeted user must perform an active action, which doesn't produce any consequences after the app is relaunched."Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vidtv: fix pass-by-value structs causing MSAN warnings vidtv_ts_null_write_into() and vidtv_ts_pcr_write_into() take their argument structs by value, causing MSAN to report uninit-value warnings. While only vidtv_ts_null_write_into() has triggered a report so far, both functions share the same issue. Fix by passing both structs by const pointer instead, avoiding the stack copy of the struct along with its MSAN shadow and origin metadata. The functions do not modify the structs, which is enforced by the const qualifier.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: af-alg - fix NULL pointer dereference in scatterwalk The AF_ALG interface fails to unmark the end of a Scatter/Gather List (SGL) when chaining a new af_alg_tsgl structure. If a sendmsg() fills an SGL exactly to MAX_SGL_ENTS, the last entry is marked as the end. A subsequent sendmsg() allocates a new SGL and chains it, but fails to clear the end marker on the previous SGL's last data entry. This causes the crypto scatterwalk to hit a premature end, returning NULL on sg_next() and leading to a kernel panic during dereference. Fix this by explicitly unmarking the end of the previous SGL when performing sg_chain() in af_alg_alloc_tsgl().Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: lag: Check for LAG device before creating debugfs __mlx5_lag_dev_add_mdev() may return 0 (success) even when an error occurs that is handled gracefully. Consequently, the initialization flow proceeds to call mlx5_ldev_add_debugfs() even when there is no valid LAG context. mlx5_ldev_add_debugfs() blindly created the debugfs directory and attributes. This exposed interfaces (like the members file) that rely on a valid ldev pointer, leading to potential NULL pointer dereferences if accessed when ldev is NULL. Add a check to verify that mlx5_lag_dev(dev) returns a valid pointer before attempting to create the debugfs entries.Show less

An issue was discovered in VrmlData_IndexedFaceSet::TShape in the VRML V2.0 parser in Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) V8_0_0_rc5 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted VRML file. The issue occurs because malformed VRML input can trigger dereference of a corrupt or unvalidated pointer during shape construction in libTKDEVRML.so.Show less
