Firebird is an open-source relational database management system. In versions prior to 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14, the external engine plugin loader concatenates a user-supplied engine name into a filesystem path without filtering path separators or .. components. An authenticated user with CREATE FUNCTION privileges can use a crafted ENGINE name to load an arbitrary shared library from anywhere on the filesystem via path traversal. The library's initialization code executes immediately during loading, before Firebird validates the module, achieving code execution as the server's OS account. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14.Show less

A vulnerability has been found in Mobatek MobaXterm Home Edition up to 26.1. This affects an unknown part in the library msimg32.dll. The manipulation leads to uncontrolled search path. An attack has to be approached locally. The attack is considered to have high complexity. It is indicated that the exploitability is difficult. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Upgrading to version 26.2 is able to mitigate this issue. It is suggested to upgrade the affected component. The vendor was contacted early, responded in a very professional manner and quickly released a fixed version of the affected product.Show less

Adobe Photoshop Installer was affected by an Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability that could have resulted in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. An attacker could have exploited this vulnerability by placing a malicious library in a directory searched by the installer. Exploitation of this issue required user interaction in that a victim must have been running the installer. Scope is changed.Show less

It has been identified that a vulnerability (CWE-427) exists in the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) management application, whereby improper permissions on the installation directory allow a malicious actor to place a DLL that is then executed with administrator privileges. If a malicious DLL is placed in the installation directory of this product, there is a possibility that the malicious DLL may be executed by exploiting the product’s behavior of loading missing DLLs from the same directory as the executable during service startup.Show less

A flaw was found in libssh. This vulnerability allows local man-in-the-middle attacks, security downgrades of SSH (Secure Shell) connections, and manipulation of trusted host information, posing a significant risk to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of SSH communications via an insecure default configuration on Windows systems where the library automatically loads configuration files from the C:\etc directory, which can be created and modified by unprivileged local users.Show less

The application's update service, when checking for updates, loads certain system libraries from a search path that includes directories writable by low‑privileged users and is not strictly restricted to trusted system locations. Because these libraries may be resolved and loaded from user‑writable locations, a local attacker can place a malicious library there and have it loaded with SYSTEM privileges, resulting in local privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution.Show less
