In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of: unittest: Fix memory leak in unittest_data_add() In unittest_data_add(), if of_resolve_phandles() fails, the allocated unittest_data is not freed, leading to a memory leak. Fix this by using scope-based cleanup helper __free(kfree) for automatic resource cleanup. This ensures unittest_data is automatically freed when it goes out of scope in error paths. For the success path, use retain_and_null_ptr() to transfer ownership of the memory to the device tree and prevent double freeing.Show less

webtransport-go is an implementation of the WebTransport protocol. Prior to 0.10.0, an attacker can cause unbounded memory consumption repeatedly creating and closing many WebTransport streams. Closed streams were not removed from an internal session map, preventing garbage collection of their resources. This vulnerability is fixed in v0.10.0.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: usb_8dev: usb_8dev_read_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak Fix similar memory leak as in commit 7352e1d5932a ("can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak"). In usb_8dev_open() -> usb_8dev_start(), the URBs for USB-in transfers are allocated, added to the priv->rx_submitted anchor and submitted. In the complete callback usb_8dev_read_bulk_callback(), the URBs are processed and resubmitted. In usb_8dev_close() -> unlink_all_urbs() the URBs are freed by calling usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&priv->rx_submitted). However, this does not take into account that the USB framework unanchors the URB before the complete function is called. This means that once an in-URB has been completed, it is no longer anchored and is ultimately not released in usb_kill_anchored_urbs(). Fix the memory leak by anchoring the URB in the usb_8dev_read_bulk_callback() to the priv->rx_submitted anchor.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gue: Fix skb memleak with inner IP protocol 0. syzbot reported skb memleak below. [0] The repro generated a GUE packet with its inner protocol 0. gue_udp_recv() returns -guehdr->proto_ctype for "resubmit" in ip_protocol_deliver_rcu(), but this only works with non-zero protocol number. Let's drop such packets. Note that 0 is a valid number (IPv6 Hop-by-Hop Option). I think it is not practical to encap HOPOPT in GUE, so once someone starts to complain, we could pass down a resubmit flag pointer to distinguish two zeros from the upper layer: * no error * resubmit HOPOPT [0] BUG: memory leak unreferenced object 0xffff888109695a00 (size 240): comm "syz.0.17", pid 6088, jiffies 4294943096 hex dump (first 32 bytes): 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 40 c2 10 81 88 ff ff 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 .@.............. backtrace (crc a84b336f): kmemleak_alloc_recursive include/linux/kmemleak.h:44 [inline] slab_post_alloc_hook mm/slub.c:4958 [inline] slab_alloc_node mm/slub.c:5263 [inline] kmem_cache_alloc_noprof+0x3b4/0x590 mm/slub.c:5270 __build_skb+0x23/0x60 net/core/skbuff.c:474 build_skb+0x20/0x190 net/core/skbuff.c:490 __tun_build_skb drivers/net/tun.c:1541 [inline] tun_build_skb+0x4a1/0xa40 drivers/net/tun.c:1636 tun_get_user+0xc12/0x2030 drivers/net/tun.c:1770 tun_chr_write_iter+0x71/0x120 drivers/net/tun.c:1999 new_sync_write fs/read_write.c:593 [inline] vfs_write+0x45d/0x710 fs/read_write.c:686 ksys_write+0xa7/0x170 fs/read_write.c:738 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 [inline] do_syscall_64+0xa4/0xf80 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7fShow less

A flaw was identified in the interactive shell of the xmllint utility, part of the libxml2 project, where memory allocated for user input is not properly released under certain conditions. When a user submits input consisting only of whitespace, the program skips command execution but fails to free the allocated buffer. Repeating this action causes memory to continuously accumulate. Over time, this can exhaust system memory and terminate the xmllint process, creating a denial-of-service condition on the local system.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: qcom: gpi: Fix memory leak in gpi_peripheral_config() Fix a memory leak in gpi_peripheral_config() where the original memory pointed to by gchan->config could be lost if krealloc() fails. The issue occurs when: 1. gchan->config points to previously allocated memory 2. krealloc() fails and returns NULL 3. The function directly assigns NULL to gchan->config, losing the reference to the original memory 4. The original memory becomes unreachable and cannot be freed Fix this by using a temporary variable to hold the krealloc() result and only updating gchan->config when the allocation succeeds. Found via static analysis and code review.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix memory leak of flow steer list on rmmod The flow steering list maintains entries that are added and removed as ethtool creates and deletes flow steering rules. Module removal with active entries causes memory leak as the list is not properly cleaned up. Prevent this by iterating through the remaining entries in the list and freeing the associated memory during module removal. Add a spinlock (flow_steer_list_lock) to protect the list access from multiple threads.Show less
