Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay

A capture-replay flaw exists when the design of the product makes it possible for a malicious user to sniff network traffic and bypass authentication by replaying it to the server in question to the same effect as the original message (or with minor changes).

azureauthextension is the Azure Authenticator Extension. From 0.124.0 to 0.150.0, a server-side authentication bypass in azureauthextension allows any party who holds a single valid Azure access token for any scope the collector's configured identity can mint for to authenticate to any OpenTelemetry receiver that uses auth: azure_auth. The extension's Authenticate method does not validate incoming bearer tokens as JWTs. Instead, it calls its own configured credential to obtain an access token and compares the client's token to the result with string equality — and the scope for that server-side token request is taken from the client-supplied Host header. As a result, a token minted for any Azure resource the service principal has ever been issued a token for (ARM, Graph, Key Vault, Storage, etc.) will authenticate to the collector if the attacker picks a matching Host. Tokens are replayable for the full issued lifetime (commonly several hours for managed identity tokens).Show less

Successfully using libcurl to do a transfer over a specific HTTP proxy (`proxyA`) with **Digest** authentication and then changing the proxy host to a second one (`proxyB`) for a second transfer, reusing the same handle, makes libcurl wrongly pass on the `Proxy-Authorization:` header field meant for `proxyA`, to `proxyB`.Show less

OpenClaw before 2026.3.23 contains a replay identity vulnerability in Plivo V2 signature verification that allows attackers to bypass replay protection by modifying query parameters. The verification path derives replay keys from the full URL including query strings instead of the canonicalized base URL, enabling attackers to mint new verified request keys through unsigned query-only changes to signed requests.Show less

OpenAirInterface v2.2.0 accepts Security Mode Complete without any integrity protection. Configuration has supported integrity NIA1 and NIA2. But if an UE sends initial registration request with only security capability IA0, OpenAirInterface accepts and proceeds. This downgrade security context can lead to the possibility of replay attack.Show less

mppx is a TypeScript interface for machine payments protocol. Prior to version 0.4.11, the tempo/session cooperative close handler validated the close voucher amount using "<" instead of "<=" against the on-chain settled amount. An attacker could submit a close voucher exactly equal to the settled amount, which would be accepted without committing any new funds, effectively closing or griefing the channel for free. This issue has been patched in version 0.4.11.Show less

Dovecot OTP authentication is vulnerable to replay attack under specific conditions. If auth cache is enabled, and username is altered in passdb, then OTP credentials can be cached so that same OTP reply is valid. An attacker able to observe an OTP exchange is able to log in as the user. If authentication happens over unsecure connection, switch to SCRAM protocol. Alternatively ensure the communcations are secured, and if possible switch to OAUTH2 or SCRAM. No publicly available exploits are known.Show less

A vulnerability was detected in Shenzhen HCC Technology MPOS M6 PLUS 1V.31-N. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component Bluetooth Handler. Performing a manipulation results in authentication bypass by capture-replay. The attack must originate from the local network. The attack is considered to have high complexity. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.Show less

OneUptime is a solution for monitoring and managing online services. In version 10.0.11 and prior, the WebAuthn authentication implementation does not store the challenge on the server side. Instead, the challenge is returned to the client and accepted back from the client request body during verification. This violates the WebAuthn specification (W3C Web Authentication Level 2, §13.4.3) and allows an attacker who has obtained a valid WebAuthn assertion (e.g., via XSS, MitM, or log exposure) to replay it indefinitely, completely bypassing the second-factor authentication. No known patches are available.Show less

Use of Password Hash With Insufficient Computational Effort, Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts vulnerability in rustdesk-client RustDesk Client rustdesk-client on Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android (Client login, peer authentication modules) allows Password Brute Forcing. The authentication proof is SHA256(SHA256(password + salt) + challenge), where both the salt and the challenge are generated entirely by the server with no client-side nonce, and the hash uses no slow key-derivation function. A rogue or on-path API/relay server (see CVE-2026-30794 / CVE-2026-30797) can issue a chosen salt and challenge, capture the resulting proof, and recover the password offline. The capture-replay claim (CWE-294) is withdrawn: the challenge is regenerated per connection (challenge = Config::get_auto_password(6)), so a captured proof is not replayable against the legitimate server. The 1.4.7 OTP brute-force limiter and the existing LOGIN_FAILURES counter constrain only ONLINE attempts and do not address offline recovery. This vulnerability is associated with program files src/client.rs and program routines handle_hash(), handle_login_from_ui() (login proof construction). This issue affects RustDesk Client: through 1.4.8.Show less

The Micca KE700 system contains flawed resynchronization logic and is vulnerable to replay attacks. This attack requires sending two previously captured codes in a specific sequence. As a result, the system can be forced to accept previously used (stale) rolling codes and execute a command. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to clone the alarm key. This grants the attacker unauthorized access to the vehicle to unlock or lock the doors.Show less
