It builds the plugin install path from an unsanitized name in server/routerTrpc/plugin.ts, and the plugin.installPlugin tRPC procedure is open to any authenticated user. Thus, a name containing ../ sequences writes the downloaded plugin files outside the plugins directory. Because the official Docker image runs as root, an authenticated attacker overwrites a root-owned startup file and achieves remote code execution as root. Self-registration for an account may be possible.Show less |

The parameter used to specify the file name does not properly validate user-supplied paths. An authenticated remote attacker could enter a manipulated path to access files located outside the intended directory. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to read system files accessible to the account used by the application.Show less |

The risk occurs when using misconf scanning on untrusted input (e.g., upon a third-party pull request that contains a Terraform configuration), if sensitive data can be found at those unintended pathnames, and an adversary can then view a sensitive data value within scan output.Show less |

In handlebars-springmvc 4.5.3 and 4.5.4, the path-containment fix for CVE-2026-63490 validates template locations as raw percent-encoded strings, whereas the template file is opened through a URL handler that percent-decodes the path. In a Spring MVC application with a file: template prefix and a request-derived view name, a percent-encoded traversal such as %2e%2e/ bypasses both the view-resolver check and the loader-side containment and reads files outside the configured template base directory.Show less |

To exploit this, an attacker with privileges to modify Dashboard settings and write arbitrary files to the pfSense firewall system (e.g., /tmp/test.widget.php) can submit a crafted widget sequence value containing a path traversal payload (e.g., ../../../../../../../../../../../tmp/test). The Dashboard will subsequently read and execute the arbitrary PHP file as if it were a standard widget.Show less |

Prior to 17.10.5 and 18.2.0, the /skin/ action in com.xpn.xwiki.web.SkinAction can resolve double-encoded parent-directory segments outside the intended skin or web-application resource prefix when Jetty 12 or later decodes the request path. The affected lookup is replaced with Environment.getResourceAsStream(String, String), which constrains a resource to its expected prefix. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use the vulnerable behavior to read arbitrary resources permitted to the Jetty process, including WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg and, depending on deployment depth and operating-system permissions, host files. Tomcat and Jetty versions before 12 do not appear affected. This issue is fixed in versions 17.10.5 and 18.2.0.Show less |

This could affect system integrity and disrupt service. The vulnerability is possible because knowledge bundle delta processing does not restrict removal paths to the staging directory and the endpoint does not enforce the expected authorization boundary. For more information see Knowledge bundle replication overview (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/distributed-search/10.4/knowledge-bundle-replication/knowledge-bundle-replication-overview) in the Splunk documentation.Show less |

Starting with version 9.6-rc-1 and prior to versions 16.10.17, 17.4.9, and 17.10.3, a potential path traversal vulnerability allow an attacker who manages to get a malicious WebJar extension installed on the wiki to write arbitrary files. While the consequences could be severe like overriding configuration files and setting the superadmin password, the attack first requires that the attacker already has admin access to at least a subwiki to be able to install a malicious extension. Further, the attacker needs to publish a malicious extension in an extension repository that is configured in the instance. This vulnerability has been patched in XWiki 16.10.17, 17.4.9, 17.10.3, and 18.0.0RC1. XWiki is not aware of any workarounds except for being careful whom developers grant script and admin rights to.Show less |

Versions prior to 3.5.7 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the importer which allows overwriting arbitrary files on disk. The OneNote converter does not sanitize the names of embedded files before writing them to disk. As a result, it's possible for an attacker to create a malicious .one file that includes file names containing ../../, that are then interpreted as part of the target path when extracting attachments from the .one file. This issue has been patched in version 3.5.7.Show less |

Prior to version 8.2.6.4, the POST /config/<service>/show API endpoint accepts a configver parameter that is directly appended to a base directory path to construct a local file path, which is subsequently opened and its contents returned to the caller. The existing path traversal guard only inspects the base directory variable (which is never user-controlled) and entirely ignores the user-supplied configver value. An authenticated attacker can supply a configver value containing `../` sequences to escape the intended directory and read arbitrary files accessible to the web application process. Version 8.2.6.4 contains a patch for the issue.Show less |
