Integer Overflow or Wraparound

The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This occurs when an integer value is incremented to a value that is too large to store in the associated representation. When this occurs, the value may become a very small or negative number.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: neighbour: allow NUD_NOARP entries to be forced GCed IFF_POINTOPOINT interfaces use NUD_NOARP entries for IPv6. It's possible to fill up the neighbour table with enough entries that it will overflow for valid connections after that. This behaviour is more prevalent after commit 58956317c8de ("neighbor: Improve garbage collection") is applied, as it prevents removal from entries that are not NUD_FAILED, unless they are more than 5s old.Show less

pgx is a PostgreSQL driver and toolkit for Go. SQL injection can occur if an attacker can cause a single query or bind message to exceed 4 GB in size. An integer overflow in the calculated message size can cause the one large message to be sent as multiple messages under the attacker's control. The problem is resolved in v4.18.2 and v5.5.4. As a workaround, reject user input large enough to cause a single query or bind message to exceed 4 GB in size.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (lm90) Prevent integer overflow/underflow in hysteresis calculations Commit b50aa49638c7 ("hwmon: (lm90) Prevent integer underflows of temperature calculations") addressed a number of underflow situations when writing temperature limits. However, it missed one situation, seen when an attempt is made to set the hysteresis value to MAX_LONG and the critical temperature limit is negative. Use clamp_val() when setting the hysteresis temperature to ensure that the provided value can never overflow or underflow.Show less

SpiceDB is an open source, Google Zanzibar-inspired database for creating and managing security-critical application permissions. Integer overflow in chunking helper causes dispatching to miss elements or panic. Any SpiceDB cluster with any schema where a resource being checked has more than 65535 relationships for the same resource and subject type is affected by this problem. The CheckPermission, BulkCheckPermission, and LookupSubjects API methods are affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.29.2.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tools/power turbostat: Fix offset overflow issue in index converting The idx_to_offset() function returns type int (32-bit signed), but MSR_PKG_ENERGY_STAT is u32 and would be interpreted as a negative number. The end result is that it hits the if (offset < 0) check in update_msr_sum() which prevents the timer callback from updating the stat in the background when long durations are used. The similar issue exists in offset_to_idx() and update_msr_sum(). Fix this issue by converting the 'int' to 'off_t' accordingly.Show less
