A flaw was found in mod_qos. An unauthenticated remote attacker could cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted JSON request when JSON body filtering is enabled. Due to improper string termination during the processing of percent-encoded input, the module reads past allocated memory boundaries, which can cause an Apache worker process to crash.Show less

radare2 is a UNIX-like reverse engineering framework and command-line toolset. Prior to 6.2.0, radare2's binary property-list Unicode parser was vulnerable because the binary-property-list Unicode parser underallocated an uninitialized UTF-8 destination and did not guarantee NUL termination. The vulnerability is triggered by running the explicit pFB or pFBj commands on untrusted binary property-list data. The json encoder treated the converted data as a nul-terminated c string and could continue reading beyond the allocation. This can cause disclosure of uninitialized or adjacent heap contents in JSON output and possible process termination. This issue is fixed in version 6.2.0.Show less

Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From 4.5.0 until 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta2, compare_wazuh_versions() in src/shared/version_op.c copies the attacker-controlled enrollment V: field into a 10-byte stack buffer with strncpy() but does not explicitly terminate the buffer. The function is reachable before authentication through wazuh-authd on TCP port 1515 when anonymous TLS enrollment is enabled. A version string of at least nine non-null bytes can cause strchr() and strtok() to read beyond ver2 and can make strtok() write a null byte into adjacent stack memory, allowing a remote denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta2.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dma-fence: Make dma_fence_dedup_array() robust against 0-count input dma_fence_dedup_array() returns 1 when called with num_fences == 0: the for-loop body never executes, j stays at 0, and the final `return ++j` yields 1. This contradicts both the kernel-doc ("Return: Number of unique fences remaining in the array") and the natural expectation that 0 input gives 0 output. The caller __dma_fence_unwrap_merge() bails out via the `if (count == 0 || count == 1)` fast path and so is save. But amdgpu_userq_wait_*() could reach the dedup call with a zero local count and dereference an uninitialized fence slot in the array. Make the contract match the documentation by returning 0 early. This also skips an unnecessary sort() call on an empty array.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/core: Prefer NLA_NUL_STRING These attributes are evaluated as c-string (passed to strcmp), but NLA_STRING doesn't check for the presence of a \0 terminator. Either this needs to switch to nla_strcmp() and needs to adjust printf fmt specifier to not use plain %s, or this needs to use NLA_NUL_STRING. As the code has been this way for long time, it seems to me that userspace does include the terminating nul, even tough its not enforced so far, and thus NLA_NUL_STRING use is the simpler solution.Show less

h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. Prior to commit 8dc37cb, when h2o receives a ClientHello message over TLS or QUIC and it contains a zero-length SNI extension, the h2o server runs over the zero-length hostname while trying to copy the hostname, assuming that it is NULL-terminated. This is a potential denial-of-service attack vector in sense that it might trigger segmentation violation. This issue has been fixed by commit 8dc37cb.Show less

A remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger memory corruption in Zephyr's HTTP server WebSocket upgrade path by sending a crafted Sec-WebSocket-Key header. The HTTP/1 header parser copies the header into a fixed-size buffer using a bounded copy that does not guarantee NUL termination when the input length reaches the buffer size. During upgrade handling the buffer is copied to a local stack buffer and passed to strlen(); if no NUL exists in-bounds, strlen() reads beyond the stack buffer and subsequent concatenation with the WebSocket magic string can write out of bounds. This leads to out-of-bounds read and write on stack memory, resulting in crash (denial of service) and potentially code execution. The path is reachable when CONFIG_HTTP_SERVER_WEBSOCKET is enabled.Show less

Crypt::OpenSSL::PKCS12 versions through 1.94 for Perl truncates passwords with embedded NULLs. Password parameters in PKCS12.xs are declared char *, which routes through Perl's default typemap to SvPV_nolen. The Perl length is discarded. The C code (or OpenSSL internally) calls strlen() on the buffer. Any password byte at or after the first NULL is silently dropped. Binary / KDF-derived / HMAC-derived passwords lose entropy without any warnings.Show less

A flaw was found in gnutls. Servers configured with RSA-PSK (Rivest–Shamir–Adleman – Pre-Shared Key) wrongfully matched usernames containing a NUL character with truncated usernames. A remote attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted username, leading to an authentication bypass. This vulnerability allows an attacker to gain unauthorized access by circumventing the authentication process.Show less

Sandboxie-Plus is an open source sandbox-based isolation software for Windows. In versions 1.17.2 and earlier, NamedPipeServer::OpenHandler copies the server field from NAMED_PIPE_OPEN_REQ into a fixed WCHAR pipename[160] stack buffer using wcscat without verifying null termination. The handler only enforces a minimum packet size, and since the service pipe accepts variable-length messages, a sandboxed caller can fill the server[48] field with non-zero data and append additional controlled wide characters after the structure. wcscat then reads past the fixed field and overflows the stack buffer in the SYSTEM service. This message is restricted to sandboxed callers, making it a sandbox escape vector. This can lead to a crash of the SbieSvc service or potential code execution as SYSTEM. This issue has been fixed in version 1.17.3.Show less

Sandboxie-Plus is an open source sandbox-based isolation software for Windows. In versions 1.17.2 and earlier, several ProcessServer handlers (KillAllHandler, SuspendAllHandler, and RunSandboxedHandler) copy a WCHAR boxname[34] field from request structures into WCHAR[40] stack buffers using wcscpy without verifying null termination. Because the service pipe accepts variable-length packets larger than the request structure, an attacker can fill the boxname field with non-zero data and append additional controlled wide characters after the structure. wcscpy then reads past the fixed field and overflows the destination stack buffer. The service pipe is created with a NULL DACL, allowing any local process to connect, and the unsafe copy occurs before authorization checks. This can lead to a crash of the SbieSvc service or potential code execution as SYSTEM. This issue has been fixed in version 1.17.3.Show less
