A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Open Asset Import Library Assimp 5.4.3. This affects the function Assimp::ASEImporter::BuildUniqueRepresentation of the file code/AssetLib/ASE/ASELoader.cpp of the component ASE File Handler. The manipulation of the argument mIndices leads to out-of-bounds read. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Upgrading to version 6.0 is able to address this issue. The patch is named 7c705fde418d68cca4e8eff56be01b2617b0d6fe. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue.Show less

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: Check the count value of channel spec to prevent out-of-bounds reads This patch fixes slab-out-of-bounds reads in brcmfmac that occur in brcmf_construct_chaninfo() and brcmf_enable_bw40_2g() when the count value of channel specifications provided by the device is greater than the length of 'list->element[]', decided by the size of the 'list' allocated with kzalloc(). The patch adds checks that make the functions free the buffer and return -EINVAL if that is the case. Note that the negative return is handled by the caller, brcmf_setup_wiphybands() or brcmf_cfg80211_attach(). Found by a modified version of syzkaller. PDF-XChange Editor RTF File Parsing Out-Of-Bounds Read Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of PDF-XChange Editor. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of RTF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-25473.Show less
