This vulnerability affects the function Assimp::SceneCombiner::AddNodeHashes of the file code/Common/SceneCombiner.cpp of the component File Handler. The manipulation leads to out-of-bounds read. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The patch is identified as a0993658f40d8e13ff5823990c30b43c82a5daf0. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue.Show less |

can: ucan: fix out of bound read in strscpy() source
Commit 7fdaf8966aae ("can: ucan: use strscpy() to instead of strncpy()")
unintentionally introduced a one byte out of bound read on strscpy()'s
source argument (which is kind of ironic knowing that strscpy() is meant
to be a more secure alternative :)).
Let's consider below buffers:
dest[len + 1]; /* will be NUL terminated */
src[len]; /* may not be NUL terminated */
When doing:
strncpy(dest, src, len);
dest[len] = '\0';
strncpy() will read up to len bytes from src.
On the other hand:
strscpy(dest, src, len + 1);
will read up to len + 1 bytes from src, that is to say, an out of bound
read of one byte will occur on src if it is not NUL terminated. Note
that the src[len] byte is never copied, but strscpy() still needs to
read it to check whether a truncation occurred or not.
This exact pattern happened in ucan.
The root cause is that the source is not NUL terminated. Instead of
doing a copy in a local buffer, directly NUL terminate it as soon as
usb_control_msg() returns. With this, the local firmware_str[] variable
can be removed.
On top of this do a couple refactors:
- ucan_ctl_payload->raw is only used for the firmware string, so
rename it to ucan_ctl_payload->fw_str and change its type from u8 to
char.
- ucan_device_request_in() is only used to retrieve the firmware
string, so rename it to ucan_get_fw_str() and refactor it to make it
directly handle all the string termination logic.Show less |

iscsi_ibft: Fix UBSAN shift-out-of-bounds warning in ibft_attr_show_nic()
When performing an iSCSI boot using IPv6, iscsistart still reads the
/sys/firmware/ibft/ethernetX/subnet-mask entry. Since the IPv6 prefix
length is 64, this causes the shift exponent to become negative,
triggering a UBSAN warning. As the concept of a subnet mask does not
apply to IPv6, the value is set to ~0 to suppress the warning message.Show less |

drm/amd/display: Fix out-of-bound accesses
[WHAT & HOW]
hpo_stream_to_link_encoder_mapping has size MAX_HPO_DP2_ENCODERS(=4),
but location can have size up to 6. As a result, it is necessary to
check location against MAX_HPO_DP2_ENCODERS.
Similiarly, disp_cfg_stream_location can be used as an array index which
should be 0..5, so the ASSERT's conditions should be less without equal.Show less |

vlan: enforce underlying device type
Currently, VLAN devices can be created on top of non-ethernet devices.
Besides the fact that it doesn't make much sense, this also causes a
bug which leaks the address of a kernel function to usermode.
When creating a VLAN device, we initialize GARP (garp_init_applicant)
and MRP (mrp_init_applicant) for the underlying device.
As part of the initialization process, we add the multicast address of
each applicant to the underlying device, by calling dev_mc_add.
__dev_mc_add uses dev->addr_len to determine the length of the new
multicast address.
This causes an out-of-bounds read if dev->addr_len is greater than 6,
since the multicast addresses provided by GARP and MRP are only 6
bytes long.
This behaviour can be reproduced using the following commands:
ip tunnel add gretest mode ip6gre local ::1 remote ::2 dev lo
ip l set up dev gretest
ip link add link gretest name vlantest type vlan id 100
Then, the following command will display the address of garp_pdu_rcv:
ip maddr show | grep 01:80:c2:00:00:21
Fix the bug by enforcing the type of the underlying device during VLAN
device initialization.Show less |

wifi: iwlwifi: limit printed string from FW file
There's no guarantee here that the file is always with a
NUL-termination, so reading the string may read beyond the
end of the TLV. If that's the last TLV in the file, it can
perhaps even read beyond the end of the file buffer.
Fix that by limiting the print format to the size of the
buffer we have.Show less |
