Description

NVIDIA Linux distributions contain a vulnerability in nvmap ioctl, which allows any user with a local account to exploit a use-after-free condition, leading to code privilege escalation, loss of confidentiality and integrity, or denial of service.

Use After Free
The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation.
